The Environment Department guarantees a quality living environment with respect for people, animals and the ecosystem. We make environmental, ecological and spatial considerations and development choices in the interests of Flemish society. We create a strong link between ecological, social and economic dimensions.
Within Environment, the Digitalization Team is responsible for the digitization of services and the optimization of data flows. We do this with around 70 colleagues by setting up umbrella information systems, reference and intersection databases, interactive counters for data exchange and developing an integrated ICT infrastructure.
As a policy data business analyst, you are part of the team of analysts and architects within the Digitalization Team.
Korte Omschrijving
As a policy data business analyst, you are partly responsible for translating data needs for various stakeholders into a detailed data architecture that can be implemented in a sustainable manner by our digitalization teams and by the product manager and the experts of the data platform.
The data needs of stakeholders arise from different contexts: execution of core processes, file handling, data publication and reporting, data exchange between partners, and so on.
This context has often already been formally outlined in broad outline by colleagues business architects and business analysts, but sometimes you will participate in mapping the data architecture at a high level before diving into depth yourself.
The first concrete assignments for the policy data business analyst are in the domain of Substances of Very High Concern (ZZS), and in the domain of the European Industrial Emissions Directive (RIE).
Both domains are related in terms of content and in terms of actors involved, and are quite innovative in terms of data architecture (the ZZS domain is new) or in need of modernization (a revision of the RIE legislation will lead to stricter obligations in terms of of reporting and data exchange between companies and government).
To carry out the assignments in the ZZS and RIE domains, the policy data business analyst will collaborate with the business architect who is also assigned to these domains.
