De Lijn is the Flemish government company that provides public transport by bus and tram in Flanders. About 3.5 million people use their services one or more times a year. We are looking for a Senior DWH Specialist – Synapse for De Lijn.

Korte Omschrijving

De Lijn is looking for a Senior Data Warehouse Engineer for the Data and Analytics Architecture department.
The duties of the DWH Engineer include:

Translating our users’ data needs into high-performance solutions.
Setting up data flows from applications to our Data Lake and our Data Warehouse.
Implementing and maintaining ETL jobs.
Implementing projects and Change Requests.
Guarantee optimal performance of the data platforms, and intervene proactively where necessary.
Support for users and customers of the Data Warehouse

Technical context

The DWH is built in Synapse on Azure.

The requirements for this role are :

In-depth knowledge of Data Warehousing and the Kimball approach.
In-depth knowledge of Azure, Python, Data Factory, Synapse, SQL.

De Lijn also uses various reporting environments (PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos, and TM1) that receive data from the Data Warehouse. Practical experience with these reporting tools is a strong added value.

What do we expect from the candidate?

Higher education (Master or Bachelor) with technical/engineering background or equivalent through experience with ICT technology for which expertise is required
Demonstrated experience for the technology in question or a similar technology
Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR – level C2
